BRADLEY STUDENT CENTER FUNDING - (from left) Dr. Jim Stockton, vice president of institutional advancement and the legislative liaison at North Arkansas College, is shown with William P. Johnny Key of Mountain Home.  The majority of the funding for the $1.3 Bradley Student Center renovation at Northark came from a $500,000 gift from Stiritz and his wife, Susan, and $679,000 in general improvement funds secured by Rep. ECONOMIC UPDATE BREAKFAST - Kathy Deck, Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, was well received as she spoke to a crowd in the L.E. “Gene” Durand Center on Northark’s center campus.

This was the third presentation in the Economic Update Breakfast Series.  The Series debuted in August of 2009 with Deck as its first presenter, and Dr. Michael R. Pakko, Chief Economist and State Economic Forecaster at the Institute for Economic Advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, was the speaker this past January.

Deck earned a B.A. in economics from the College of William and Mary and a M.S. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Before joining the Center for Business and Economic Research, she was the antitrust economist for the Arizona Attorney General.  Her research interests include local economic development, industry market structure, and education and health care economics.
